On January 12th 2010, the worst earthquake in 200 years struck less than ten miles from the Caribbean city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, which claimed the lives of between 50,000 – 100,000 and displaced another 300,000 Haitians. Ghetto Kitty along with a host of local Dj’s, performers and promoters staged a benefit night at Miss Libertine in Melbourne to raise funds for the victims of the disaster.
Acts including High Society LIVE, Nadee - Haitian soul singer w live band, Youthful Implants, Pat Stormont LIVE, Bass Bin Laden, yoink!, Matt Radovich, Dave Pham & U One, citizen.com, Cecille Waters, Lou-is, Joe Seven & Dust, Pat Tassone & Dean Benson, The Alias & Brewster B, Sizzle & TakaCo, lil miSbreaks, Lilstormer, performances by The Collective Directive and a host of others volunteered their time for this amazing event.
Over $3,000 was donated to Oxfam Australia’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Oxfam Australia works in partnership with local communities in more than 27 countries to overcome poverty and injustice, and is a member of Oxfam International.
