Lounge 2006-2009
For three years Bo Kitty was the promotions and Marketing manager for the iconic Lounge, a stalwart of the Melbourne club scene on Swanston St in the heart of the CBD that was one of the first of it's kind nearly 20 years ago, to incorporate restaurant, bar and nightclub into the one space.
From wednesday to saturday the cafe tables would get pushed aside for some amazing nights including Filter, Soulaar, Plush, Out of Order, Cocoa Butter, and more, including apperances over the years of the likes of some amazing acts, such as :
Norman Jay, DJ Dave Angel, DJ Lenny Dee, Ronny Jordan, Corduroy, Renegade Soundwave, DJ Colin Dale, Spearhead, Gil Scott Heron, DJ Claude Young, Jeff Buckley, Gilles Peterson, The Psychonauts, I:Cube & GilbR, DJ Q-Bert, Mad Professor, Richard Hell, Henri Chopin, Jammin’ Unit, Adam Freeland, DJ John B, Groovediggaz, Friendly, Fabio, Space DJz, DJ Spooky, Doc Scott, Groove Armada, MC Justyic, Common Factor, DJ Matrix, Freq Nasty, Gizelle,
DJ Bailey, MC Flux, Nitin Sahwney and too much awesome local talent to mention.
Kitty organised all club events, food promotions and held over 50 art shows, but best thing kity gained from this time was the amazing networks of people that were part of all this have proven invaluable for every project and fun night out since. You know who you are!
